St. Philip’s After School Music and Homework Program, serving children in grades 3, 4, and 5 from two neighboring elementary schools, celebrated the approaching end of the school year 2015-2016 with a spring concert. Our students demonstrated skill and poise as they performed individually and as a choir. It is gratifying to witness the growth in our students.
A family dinner followed.
St. Philip’s has reason to take pride in this outreach to the wider community. Fifty volunteers help provide homework help, piano or chimes lessons and practice, tutoring, snacks, choral training, and safe transport to church. Thanks to all for their time, dedication, and passion. A special thank you to Chloe Harwood. A graduating high school senior, Chloe has volunteered one day a week for the past three years and has become a favorite of the students.

A big thank you to Barby Goldschmid (below) for her tireless and enthusiastic work in directing the program. Thank you to Natalie Hall (right) for her energetic and creative direction of the chimes and choir. And of course thank you to Director of Music Woosug Kang.
