In April, it was announced that the Kautz family (Jim, Mary, Dan, and Leslie) had made a very generous $1 million gift to form the Kautz Music Ministry Endowment for St. Philip’s. The sole purpose of this endowment is to support St. Philip’s Music Ministry. By providing about $50,000 per annum to the Music Ministry, this gift will also support St. Philip’s total ministry indirectly. In making this gift, Mr. and Mrs. Kautz have said, “We are happy to make this gift in support of St. Philip’s Music Ministry. We make this gift to help ensure that St. Philip’s tradition of first class worship music continues well into the future. We believe this tradition is a crucial factor in the parish’s deeply spiritual worship services. We also hope this gift will encourage other parishioners to consider making gifts to the St. Philip’s Ministry Endowment Fund” (see related story).
